Dumfries and District Music Festival Association

Festival Patrons
The Dumfries and District Music Festival has been in existence since 1922 and there has been a Festival almost every year since then. We already receive help from the Regional Education Department with the use of schools as venues and help in the production of the syllabuses and programmes. We are also greatly indebted to the many workers who work voluntarily in committee throughout the year and also to those who work voluntarily as door stewards, hall stewards and adjudicators’ assistants during the Festival period.

Almost 2000 people perform to a very high standard in the various sections of every Festival. The Festival has sections for Music, Speech, Scottish Country Dance, Piping and Drumming and Accordion and Fiddle. As a member of the British and International Federation of Festivals for Music, Speech and Dance we choose from their lists approved and highly respected adjudicators.

For a minimum donation of £5 a Festival patron will receive a complimentary pass that would allow entry to all Festival venues and would have his or her name printed in the Festival programmes.  The festival year ends at the AGM following the festival (usually in May), subscriptions are then due.

If you would like to become a patron of Dumfries and District Music Festival Association please provide your name and address and hand it to a committee member or send it to, Mr Roger Windsor, Middlefield House, by Dumfries DG1 3SF, 01387 750536 along with your donation. Cheques should be made payable to Dumfries and District Music Festival Association.

From 2006, the DDMFA have decided to offer corporate patronage to companies that wish to support us. To find out more about this please contact Roger at the address or phone number above or at Ottersburngall@aol.com .
