General Regulations
1. In classes where age limits are specified, the date at
which age is to be taken is 1st March of the Festival year.
2. The executive may refuse any entry without assigning any reason.
3. The Executive will decide upon the order in which the classes will be taken,
and arrange the order of competing, as soon as the list of entries has been
closed.
4. Incomplete entry forms cannot be accepted.
5. Cheques should be made payable to the Dumfries and District Music Festival
Association.
6. A timetable will be sent as soon as possible after the closing date for
entries, providing a stamped, addressed envelope is sent with the entry form(s).
7. The Executive Committee may later modify or cancel any of the arrangements
detailed in the syllabus, as it may deem necessary.
8. The Executive reserves the right to combine classes should entries be low on
the day.
9. Competitors failing to appear when called upon may forfeit their right to
take part in that particular competition, subject to right of appeal to the
General Secretary, who may, if he/she thinks fit, and opportunity can be found,
allow them to compete.
10. Competitors, Teachers, or members of the public must not approach the
adjudicator’s desk prior to or during competitions.
11. No video recorders, tape recorders cameras or mobile phone recording will be permitted during
competition or adjudication.
12. All mobile telephones must be switched off during the competitions.
13. Silence must be maintained during the competitions and there will be no exit
or entrance from the halls while a competitor is being heard or an adjudication
given.
14. School groups must be accompanied by a teacher at all times.
15. All enquiries, complaints, protests or representations of any kind must be
made in writing to the General Secretary.
16. The Adjudicator’s decision in all cases shall be final.
17. The decision of the Executive Committee in all matters arising out of, or
not specially provided for, in these regulations shall be final.
